Two Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
