Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
