Cars in Germany's Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities reported they were notified by a resident who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 vehicles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Officers report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then found many other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials state initial examinations show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; authorities are not yet aware of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.

City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for details.

A senior official stated the attack made him without words and had to be resolved promptly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, mentioning the death of nine victims by a shooter targeting residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
